Arina Slobodianik
Set designer and costume designer
Arina Slobodianik is an artist, set designer, scenographer, born and raised in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. She has a specialist degree in set and costume design from Saint Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Arts, Saint Petersburg. In 2020 she earned her MFA in the design and technology at The University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, as a Fulbright scholar. Since 2015 Arina works as scenographer and set designer in renowned theaters across Russia and USA among which design for the “Boudica” directed by Tiffanie Nichole Greene in Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis; work with Ping Chong and Talvin Wilks (New York), Ellen Fenster (Minneapolis), Konstantin Soldatov (Russia), etc. Also, she worked as a production designer for various video project in Russia, USA, Czech Republic in a collaboration with filmmakers, among which Nikita Shokhov (USA), Juan Pablo Rozo (Colombia) etc. Beside her scenography practice, Arina also work as video artist, experimenting with video projection, video art installations, animation, site specific performances and Augmented reality art.
